Emotional eating gets a bad rep but it’s not as bad as you’ve been led to believe. In fact, I’d argue that emotional eating is good for you; it’s your bodies way of saying, “hey girl, I’ve got feelings that need relieving, help”. It’s a coping mechanism.
Food is used to celebrate, comfort and nurture, so it’s not surprising that we use food to cope with the stresses of life. Emotional eating only becomes a concern when you are using it as a coping mechanism on a regular basis. It’s here that I question, what are you feeding? What is going on outside of your relationship with food that is causing you fear, pain or sadness?
Sometimes things aren’t so easy to process, and feelings aren’t so easy to understand. This is where ROOTED Living steps in - to help you take control of your habits and feed what it is that you really need.
